The Silver Jubilee of Sacred Heart Church, Yermal was celebrated with great joy, fervour and devotion on Friday 25th May 2018.
The Solemn Eucharist was celebrated with main celebrant Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi along with V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Dean of Udupi Deanery; Rev. Fr Lawrence Rodrigues, Parish Priest of Yermal; a number of priests from Udupi and Mangalore Dioceses, Religious men, women and the parishioners and guests.
A short stage programme was held at which Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi; Rt. Rev. Msgr. Fr Baptist Menezes, Vicar general of Udupi Diocese; V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Dean of Udupi Deanery and Chancellor of Udupi Diocese, V. Rev. Fr Stany Tauro, Dean of Shirva Deanery, Rev. John Leslie Kundar, Pastor of CSI Church Uchila; Mr. Vedamurthi K.V. Ragavenrdra Upadyaya, of Mahalaxmi Temple Uchilla; Dr Shake Mohammed Irfan, Medical officer of Ayursh Uchilla; Rev. Fr Lawrence Rodrigues, Parish Priest of Yermal Parish; Mrs. Sharlet Furtado, Vice Precedent of Yermal Church; Mrs Veronica Barboza, Coordinator of 18 commission and others were present on the dais.
Rev. John Leslie Kundar, Sri Vedamurthi K.V. Ragavenra Upadyaya, Shake Mohammed Irfan, Gangadara Karkera, V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Baptist Menezes and Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo addressed the gathering on the occasion. Former parish priests, Sponsors, donors, former vice president and Secretary, Priest and Religious form the parish were felicitated.
Mrs Sharlet Furtado welcomes the gathering and Mrs Veronica Barboza Propose vote of thanks. Rev. Fr Denis D’Sa compares the programme. Fellowship meal was served to all those who attended the programme.
