Udupi, March 16, 2025 – Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and the Laity Commission of Udupi Diocese jointly organized the Udupi Diocesan Catholic Government and Civil Officials Gathering at ‘Anugraha,’ Udupi Diocesan Pastoral Center, Kakkunje. This historic event brought together Catholic officials serving in government and civil sectors for the first time at the diocesan level.
The gathering began with a prayer service, followed by a self-introduction session fostering camaraderie. Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, addressed the officials, calling them the true assets of the diocese and emphasizing the importance of collaboration in public service. He outlined the objectives of the gathering, highlighting the role of Catholic officials in shaping society.
Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves and Mr. Valentine D’Souza also shared their insights, reinforcing the need for unity and mutual support. Mr. Rosario D’Souza, Mr. Wilfred, and Ms. Shoba were selected as representatives of Government and Civil Officials to facilitate future engagements.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Gerald Pinto, who welcomed the attendees and compered the program, while Mr. Santhosh Cornelio proposed the vote of thanks. The gathering concluded on a high note, fostering stronger bonds and a shared commitment to faith and service.
