Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo paid his official Pastoral Visit to the Parish Priest and the faithful of Christ Church Manipal from 18 to 20th February 2017. He initiated the Pastoral Visit with a prayer service in the church and later in the cemetery. Prayers were offered for dear departed. After the prayer service Bishop met the Candidates of the sacrament Confirmation. Then followed the meeting with members of Parish Pastoral Council and Finance Committee.
The Second day visit began with the Solemn Eucharist during which he catechized the children and the adults about the sacrament of Confirmation and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He administered the sacrament of Confirmation to 44 Children of the parish. The Parish Priest of Manipal Rev. Fr Fredrick D’Souza and Asst. Parish Priest Rev. Fr Edwin D’Souza OFMCap were present during the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration. After the Mass he met the members of Jesus Youth, ICYM, SFO Members, SVP. In the afternoon Woman Commission, Catholic Sabha, Altar Servers. After the meeting Bishop Celebrated mass in English for Catholic Students from other State(Country). After the mass he met the members of 18 Commission.
Day third of the visit began with mass at Cluny Convent. After the mass he visited to Christ CBSC school. Then bishop visited the sick. Finally on 20th February Bishop concluded his pastoral visit with a concluding prayer service.
