Udupi: Bishop Gerald Lobo of Udupi, who is known for empowering the Lay Faithful appointed Mr Leslie Arouza, a well known Family Counselor and Compere as the Associate Director of Family Commission of the diocese.

In a brief ceremony held in the Bishop’s house on 30 May 2014, the Bishop entrusted the charge to Mr Leslie. He would assist Fr Chetan OFMCap who is the director of Family Commission and eventually take over as the Director.  The Bishop had inducted three lay persons including a Religious Sister into diocesan service last year.

At the same ceremony Fr Stephen D’Souza who till now worked as Professor at St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore, was appointed as the Director of Commission for Bible, Catechetics and Liturgy (Divya Jyothi). This commission was looked after by Fr Chetan OFMCap till now.
