The Udupi Diocesan Health Commission organized an inspiring doctors' get-together on January 5, 2025, at the 'Anugraha' Pastoral Centre in Ambagilu. The event brought together a vibrant group of medical professionals committed to blending their expertise with compassionate service to society.

The program began with a heartfelt prayer led by Mrs. Precilla Noronha and her team, setting a tone of gratitude and purpose. The dais was graced by notable dignitaries, including Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese; Dr. Edward Lobo, Director of the Udupi Diocesan Health Commission; Dr. Gerald Pinto, Director of the Udupi Diocesan Laity Commission; Mrs. Precilla Noronha, Secretary of the Udupi Diocesan Health Commission; Mrs. Hilda, Program Coordinator of the Diocesan Health Commission; and Rev. Fr. Charles Saldanha, OFMCap.

The gathering kicked off with an icebreaker where each doctor introduced themselves to the audience, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration. In his keynote address, Bishop Gerald Lobo expressed his deep appreciation for the doctors who took time from their demanding schedules to attend the event. He emphasized the pivotal role of healthcare professionals in the Diocese's mission and detailed the impactful initiatives undertaken by the Health Commission, including health awareness seminars, general health check-up camps, eye screening programs, blood donation drives, and bone density tests. He also urged the doctors to continue supporting these initiatives and to offer their expertise whenever the Health Commission seeks their guidance. He highlighted the synergy between faith and healing, encouraging them to be beacons of hope in the community.

In a significant move, four doctors were selected to join the Diocesan Think Tank, ensuring continued innovation and strategic input in healthcare outreach programs. Dr. Edward Lobo extended a warm welcome to all participants, setting the stage for meaningful discussions and networking. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Precilla Noronha, acknowledging the contributions of every individual who made the event successful. Dr. Rayan Mathias seamlessly compered the gathering, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow of events.

The Udupi Diocesan Doctors’ Get-Together was more than just a meeting; it was a celebration of dedication, a call to action, and a reaffirmation of the commitment to serve humanity with both skill and compassion.
