Shirva, December 13, 2024 – The golden jubilee celebration of St. Mary’s Pre-University College concluded with an inspiring and vibrant program, marking 50 years of excellence in education. The festivities began with a grand procession of dignitaries, teachers, and students, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional Chende, leading to the college quadrangle, the venue for the celebrations.
The program commenced with a melodious prayer song and a captivating welcome dance, setting a celebratory tone. Eminent dignitaries graced the occasion, including Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of the Udupi Diocese, who presided over the event. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Vinay Kumar Sorake, former Karnataka Minister; Rev. Dr. Leslie D’Souza, Correspondent of the College; Rev. Fr. Vincent Crasta, Secretary of the Catholic Education Society, Udupi; Rev. Fr. Rolwin Aranha, Principal of Don Bosco CBSE School; Mrs. Savitha Pujarthi, President of Shirva Panchayat; Mr. Melwin Aranha, Vice President of Shirva Parish Pastoral Council; and Prof. Jayashanker, Principal of the college.

The event culminated with heartfelt gratitude expressed by Mr. Norbert Machado, Jubilee Committee Convener, and Mrs. Jacintha Irene D’Souza, Secretary of the Jubilee Committee, who proposed the vote of thanks.
