We are proud to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto and Rev. Fr Denis D’Sa, esteemed priests of our Diocese, who have been appointed to significant roles within the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CCBI). Their new responsibilities are a testament to their dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Church.

Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto
Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, Executive Director of Sampada Udupi, has been appointed as one of the Council Members of the CCBI Commission for Women. His term, effective from 01 October 2024, will last for four years. This prestigious appointment was made by Most Rev. Dr Anil Joseph Couto, Archbishop of Delhi and Secretary General of the CCBI.

In his new role, Fr Reginald will serve as a key consultative figure, tasked with providing guidance and strategic input to the Office Bearers of the Women’s Commission. His work will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the action plan outlined in the CCBI’s Pastoral Plan, with a focus on empowering women within the Church and society.

Rev. Fr Denis D’Sa
Rev. Fr Denis D’Sa, the Parish Priest of St Anne’s Church, Thottam, has also been appointed as one of the Council Members of the CCBI Commission for Ecumenism. Like Fr Reginald, his four-year term begins on 01 October 2024 and was conferred by Most Rev. Dr Anil Joseph Couto.

In this role, Fr Denis will provide critical advice and direction to the Commission for Ecumenism, helping foster unity and cooperation between Christian denominations. His leadership and experience will help further the cause of ecumenical dialogue, a core mission of the Church in its efforts to promote understanding and collaboration among various Christian communities.

These appointments not only reflect the deep faith and commitment of Fr Reginald and Fr Denis but also highlight their ability to contribute to the wider mission of the Church in India. We congratulate them both and pray that God’s grace may guide them in these important roles, as they work to further the spiritual and pastoral goals of the CCBI.

We wish them all success in their endeavors and invoke God’s blessings upon them as they embark on these significant ministries.
