Udupi Diocesan Health Commission Organized International Nurses Day 2024 at ‘Anugraha’ Udupi Diocesan Pastoral Centre on 2nd June 2024
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese; Dr P. V. Bhandary, Director of Dr A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi; Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General of Udupi Diocese; Rev. Fr Charles Saldanha OFMCap, Diocesan Spiritual Director of Health Commission; Dr Edward Lobo, Diocesan Director of Health Commission; Mrs Precilla Noronha, Secretary of Health Commission; and Mrs Hilda Cornelio, Programme Convener of Health Commission, were present on the dais.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo lighted the lamp along with the dignitaries. Dr Leena Sequeira introduced Dr P. V. Bhandary to the audience. Dr P. V. Bhandary gave a talk on the topic of ‘Care for Yourself While Caring for Others’ through a PowerPoint presentation.
Mrs Precilla Noronha presented the Health Commission report for the year 2023 through a PowerPoint presentation. Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Dr P. V. Bhandary, Mr Kelvin, Mr Jeevan K., and members of the resource team were felicitated by the dignitaries.
Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo addressed the gathering and wished all the nurses a happy International Nurses Day. He added that the Health Commission of Udupi Diocese is doing wonderful work throughout the Diocese. The Bishop congratulated and expressed his gratitude to Dr Edward Lobo for his excellent work as Director of the Health Commission.
Mr Jeevan K., Marketing Executive of the Department of Post, Udupi, gave a talk about ‘Postal Savings and Investments.’ Udupi Diocesan parish animators of the Health Commission were recognized with mementos presented by the dignitaries.
Dr Edward Lobo welcomed the gathering, and Mrs Hilda Cornelio proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Loretta Veena D’Silva compered the programme.
After the stage programme, Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo celebrated the Holy Eucharist along with Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves and Rev. Fr Charles Saldanha OFMCap at the Pastoral Centre's chapel. Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves preached a meaningful homily. All present participated in the fellowship meal that followed.
