Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi Diocese paid his official PVisit the faithful of St Lawrence Church, Attur from 24 to 26 October 2015. He initiated the Pastoral Visit with a prayer service in the church and later in the cemetery. Prayers were offered for dear departed of the parishioners of St Lawrence Church, Attur. After the prayer service, Bishop met the members of SVP, Catholic Sabha, Parish Finance Committee, Parish Pastoral Council and 18 pastoral commissions.
Day two of the visit began with the Holy Eucharist. Bishop offered the Mass along with Parish Priest Rev. Fr Alphonsus D’Lima, Asst Parish Priest Fr Vijay D’Souza and Rector of the shrine Fr George D’Souza. After the Mass he met the Catechism Children, the Altar Servers, the Associations of YCS, ICYM, Women and SCC Central Committee. In the Afternoon, the bishop met the members of the Family Commission, Bible, Catechetic and Liturgy. He also attended the SCC ward meeting in one of the wards of the parish, followed by visit to the sick and finally Prayer, Adoration and Rosary in the St Lawrence Convent, Attur.
On the third day, bishop visited the Schools of the parish. He also had an interaction with the school teachers. The official Pastoral visit of the Bishop was concluded on 26 October with a meaningful prayer service.
