It was a joyful and memorable event for the parishioners of Joseph Church, Kota when their shepherd the Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited them from 23rd to 24th March, 2019. Rev. Fr Alphonsus D’Lima, the Parish Priest and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 23rd evening. The preliminary rites in the Church were followed by a visit to the cemetery.
This was followed by his meeting with the Finance Committee members; Pastoral Council; 18 Commissions’ Coordinator and Animators.
On 27th May, Most Rev. Dr Gerald Lobo celebrated the mass along with Rev. Fr Alphonsus D’Lima. In his homily during the Mass, the Bishop preached on how we can live our family like Holy family in our day to day life.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. Altar Boys; Girls Sodality; Sthree Sangatan; Catholic Sabha; SFO and SVP. He attended the S.C.C. meeting in a ward. He spent time with the sick in the parish. The Pastoral visit concluded on Sunday 24th with a Prayer Service, after which the Bishop returned to the Bishop’s House.
