Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi was on a Pastoral Visit to the Community of St Joseph Church, Kota. He arrived at the Venue on 15 October, 2016. The Parish Community of 45 families accorded to him a warm welcome. Later on the Bishop conducted the prayer service in the church which was followed by the official visit to the Cemetery. A prayer service was held in honour of the dear departed of the parishioners. This was followed by the catechism session for the Confirmation candidates. After that he met the member’s of 18 commission and pastoral committee.
Day two of the visit began with a solemn Eucharist in the Church during which the Bishop catechized the children and the adults on the sacrament of confirmation and the power of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He administered the sacrament of Confirmation to 11 Children of the parish. The Parish Priest of Kota Rev. Fr Lawrence Martis con celebrated with the Bishop. After the Mass the Bishop met the Altar Servers, S.V.P., Catholic Sabha, Third Order, Woman Commission . In the afternoon Bishop paid a visit to a couple of elderly and sick to administer the sacrament of anointing of the sick. After the sick visit he attended the Ward meeting.
Finally the Pastoral visit concluded with a short prayer service in the Church.
