It was a joyful occasion for the parishioners of Mother of Sorrows Parish when the Bishop of Udupi, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Lobo visited them from 13th to14th November, 2021. V. Rev. Charles Menezes, Parish Priest of Udupi Parish; Rev. Fr Ashwin Aranha, Asst. Priest; Rev. Fr Johnson Sequeira, Principal of St Mary’s CBSE School; Rev. Fr William Martis and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him on 13th evening.
After the preliminary rites in the Church the Bishop celebrated the holy Eucharist along withV. Rev. Fr Charles Menezes, Rev. Fr Ashwin Aranha, Rev. Fr Jonson Sequeira and Rev. Fr William Martis. After the Mass, Bishop had meetings with finance committee members.
On 7th November, Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese celebrated the mass along with V. Rev. Fr Charles Menezes, Rev. Fr William Martis and Rev. Fr Stephen D’Souza, Director of Divya Jyothi. Bishop preached a meaningful homily on how we can teach good values to our children.
After the Mass, the Bishop had meetings with several groups, viz. Finance Committee members, Altar Boys; Sthree Sanghatan; ICYM; YCS; Catholic Sabha; SFO; Legion of Mary; SVP and Parish Pastoral council. The Pastoral Visit concluded on Sunday 14th with a Prayer Service, after which the Bishop returned to the Bishop’s House.
