It looks just the other day we inaugurated the New Year 2021 amidst the threat of the covid – 19 pandemic  and its going to be six months this June. Time and days fly and so we along with them, no matter what the situation is and going to be. Life goes on as it should be but it becomes a meaningful challenge for those wo have respect for human life and its dignity because we are all created by God in His own image:“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created  them” (Gen. 1:27). In order to make human life richer, dignified and divine, God sent His own Son (Gal. 4:4) who became one of us in history, lived, proclaimed God’s Word and died on the Cross for us having given us a new commandment to live and love: “A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another” (Jn 13:34). The translation of this commandment in our daily lives will make us overcome evil, all odds and hurdles in our way including that of the pandemic bringing us closer to each other as God’s loving family.

The Holy Mother the Church places before us in this month such solemnities and feasts that they will surely make us proud of our divine image and human life filled with love for God and one another. These are: The Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Corpus Christi) on 6th, the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on 11th, the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 12th, the Birth of St John the Baptist on 24th  and St Peter and St Paul, Apostles on 29th. While out of pure love for us Christ continually offers Himself in the Holy Eucharist, His most precious Heart burns for us filled with love to pour upon us the Divine Mercy, our Heavenly Mother Mary, St John the Baptist, St Peter and St Paul have witnessed to God’s Word and love in a complete measure leaving us all a perfect example of Christ’s new commandment for us all to emulate.

True we are still under the pain, burden and fear of corona virus looming large over and around us but when God and His unconditional protective love is with us, who and what can be against us (Rom. 8:31)?. Let us all pray for each other, live for God through our love for one another. May God bless us all.
