Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi was on a Pastoral Visit to the Community of St Antony Church, Koteshwar. He arrived at the Venue on 21 May, 2016. The Parish Community of 92 families accorded to him a warm welcome. Later on the Bishop conducted the prayer service in the church which was followed by the official visit to the Cemetery. A prayer service was held in honour of the dear departed of the parishioners. This was followed by the catechism session for the Confirmation candidates, Sunday Catechism Teachers, S.V.P., Third Order and Bishop also paid a visit to Carmel Ashram, OCD Religious men house at Koteshwar.
Day two of the visit began with a solemn Eucharist in the Church during which the Bishop catechized the children and the adults on the sacrament of confirmation and the power of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He administered the sacrament of Confirmation to 7 Children of the parish. The Parish Priest of Koteshwar Rev. Fr Vincent D’Souza and another priest Rev. Fr Rayan Pais, con celebrated with the Bishop. After the Mass the Bishop met the Altar Servers, C.L.C., Missionary Children, 18 Commissions members, Catholic Sabha, I.C.Y.M. and Y.C.S. Students. In the afternoon Bishop paid a visit to a couple of elderly and sick to administer the sacrament of anointing of the sick. He attend the Ward meeting and finally he visit to St Antony Senior Citizen Home and Convent.
The Pastoral visit concluded with a short prayer service in the Church.
